Police recovered a stolen car in Enniskillen last Thursday.

The driver parked the English registered BMW X5 at East Bridge Street and went into the Driver and Vehicle Agency offices to tax the vehicle. However, a member of staff spotted that it had been stolen and called the police.

The man waited until the police arrived and explained that he had seen the car advertised on the internet earlier this month and had travelled to Dublin where he bought it, paying in cash. He was not arrested and has not been charged with any offence.

A PSNI spokesman said the car was stolen from outside a house in the Ballysillan area of Belfast on the afternoon of July 13, last year.

He said police are keen to establish the movements of the four-year-old vehicle over the past six months.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police in Enniskillen on 0845 600 8000.
