Support wanted for Castle Coole Hospice walk
Northern Ireland Hospice's Vice President Olivia Nash, is calling for the people of County Fermanagh to help make miles of difference by supporting the 2012 Hospice Walks. The Hospice Walks offer ten different stunning walking locations across Northern Ireland, one of which is a five mile walk through the scenic Castle Coole, Enniskillen, taking place on Sunday, March 25th at 3pm.
This year the NI Hospice walk event target is £180,000 and is needed to help support the annual fundraising target of over £5 million. Northern Ireland Hospice currently cares for over 3,000 people across both adult and children's services in hospice and in the community. Money raised from events like the 2012 Hospice Walk will help care for those living with a terminal illness and will offer support for their families. All care is free of charge and is provided 24 hours a day, everyday of the year.
The Walk event attracts thousands of people of all ages and abilities. Local celebrities such as Hospice Vice President Olivia Nash will be amongst those walking to raise money for the charity. The walk routes are organised by local volunteers who marshal the walk and are a friendly face offering refreshments at the finish line.
Every pound donated or raised will make a difference says NI Hospice Vice president, Olivia Nash,
"As Vice President for Northern Ireland Hospice I am delighted to be part of this annual event. By committing to the walk and getting sponsored people will be making a big difference as the money raised will make a huge impact on the lives of local people, people in our community. Sponsorship money of £30 will pay an hour of specialist nursing care for a patient being cared for at home. I will do all I can to promote the 2012 Walk and hope as many local people as possible turn out after such a long winter for a bit of craic and to help our local charity."
