Microchipping dogs is a good idea
Dear Sir, - I read in the paper about microchipping dogs which I think is a good idea, if it means that people will not take a dog and then throw it out to fend for itself, which is happening much too often.
In fact, I think the law should go further by compelling all dogs to be neutered and spayed as this would stop all unwanted puppies.
I would also like to ask why are packs of dogs belonging to blood thirsty huntsmen allowed to run wild through our towns and villages? That pack of dogs which ripped that poor woman's cat out of its own wee house on the owners patio and killed it in front of her eyes, I dread to think what would have been the outcome if a child had been playing with that poor cat.
The spokesperson for the hunt, when asked if it could happen again, had the cheek to say that they would let people know when they were coming and so keep their pets in. Who does he think he is? The arrogance of him leaves me furious.
Hunting is an outdated cruel blood sport like cock, dog and badger fighting and should be outlawed. Come on Stormont MPs, do the decent thing, outlaw all hunting with dogs like Great Britain did.
I for one, like other right minded people, am disgusted with any person who think it is okay to set one pack of animals on another and let the poor beast be slowly pulled apart and die in agony.
The political party who calls for this blood sport to stop will get my vote every time.
The huntsmen don't tell the public how the hounds are trained to kill, how they are bloodied, to use their own phrase, how another animal loses its life to train them.
God forgive them. Stop this terrible sport now before something terrible happens to a child.
Yours faithfully,
An animal lover
