Layla in star final
A 13-year-old from Enniskillen has reached the final of a talent competition in Donegal later this month.
Layla McCosker, a daughter of Teenie and Conor McCosker, Tempo Road, Enniskillen, is among the last 12 contestants to be chosen to sing in the final of the Harvey's Point Search 4 a Star competition on February 24. She will be singing to win a 1,000 euro top prize and a place in the hotel's summer cabaret line-up.
She got through her heat on February 10 singing Coldplay's Fix You, having impressed the judges Jody Gallagher, a singer-song-writer, Margaret Carr-Flynn (Ocean FM) and Marty Friel (DJ Highland Radio). MC for the event was Noel Cunningham from TV3. It was her first time ever to perform on stage. The St. Fanchea's College student has been singing from the age of two and has always loved music.
The interest in her talent does not stop at the final -- she is due to be interviewed on Ocean FM this Saturday at 3pm.
